Our Story

This Kahani (story) all began on October 10, 2009...

Sheriza and Nadeem met for the first time that night. It was a usual Saturday night out with friends and Sheriza was introduced to Nadeem through a mutual friend. After being introduced at the door, they headed to their separate parties. Little did Sheriza know, Nadeem had been trying to get her attention since the beginning of the evening. It took him all night, but opportunity struck when Nadeem noticed that Sheriza was leaving on her own. As a true gentleman does, he offered to walk her home. She was hesitant at first, but Nadeem convinced her with his amazing charm and good looks. They ended up walking around for what seemed like hours talking and getting to know one another. Finally, Nadeem mustered up the courage to ask Sheriza out when they got to her door.  Since he seemed like a nice guy, she took a leap of faith and decided to give him her number. 

Nadeem, in true Indian fashion, convinced Sheriza to go on a date with him by promising to teach her Kutchi (the cultural/regional language). To Sheriza’s dismay, this was just a ploy to spend time with her. He used everything he had to impress her and get her to fall for him; he even used his mum’s cooking! It is still yet to be determined what really made Sheriza fall for him - was it Nadeem's wit and personality, or was it his mum’s cooking? But whatever it was, Sheriza was hooked! They quickly came to realize that they shared many passions. A few that topped the list were hiking/going to the mountains, Japanese Village and of course, hockey. 

It took a while, but Nadeem FINALLY realized that Sheriza was the only one for him. Seeing how the mountains seemed to be one of their favorite places to visit, Nadeem thought it only fitting that he propose to the love of his life on the lush peaks of the Canadian Rockies. When Nadeem went down on one knee, she thought he collapsed. She ran to catch him! When she got back up and he was actually able to propose, she was so speechless that Nadeem had to ask her twice just to confirm that she was saying yes. It was an amazing rest of the day spending time together and sharing the news with family and friends.

We’re so excited for the day that we can call one another Husband and Wife. We cannot express how happy we are to celebrate with everyone. We hope you enjoy your time with us and let’s PARTAYY!!
